ABSTRACT:
A substantially anhydrous cell comprising an anode, a polyacetylene film or foam cathode, an electrolyte capable of .rho.-doping the cathode, and an organic solvent for said electrolyte, said polyacetylene cathode being insoluble in said solvent when said cathode is either undoped or .rho.-doped, said solvent being stable to electrochemical decomposition, and said anode and said solvent being substantially inert to one another.
