ABSTRACT:
A high damping capacity alloy comprising of 0.3-20% by weight of Si and the remainder of Al and, as the case may be, further comprising of 0.1-50% by weight in total of at least one subingredient of Pb, Sb, Ge, Ce, Ni, Co, Fe, Nb, Zr, Ti, Ca and B, the alloy having a damping capacity of not less than 6.times.10.sup.-3 after cold working with a reduction of area of at least 5%, and a process for producing the same.
