ABSTRACT:
The radiation detector includes a housing formed of a liquid crystal poly or polyphenylene sulfide treated with a gas plasma and reinforced with carbon fibers. Further, the detector includes components, such as the eye lens, window and charging switch, formed of injection molded phenoxy resin. With these improvements, the radiation detector can withstand colder temperatures, greater thermal and mechanical shock and higher humidity.
