Azobenzenesulfonamides such as 2-[4-(dimethylamino)phenylazo]-N-[(4-methoxy-6-methylpyrimidin-2-yl)aminoc arbonyl]benzenesulfonamide are useful as preemergent and postemergent herbicides.
