The present invention provides therapeutic compositions comprising extracts of the plant speciesEchinacea purpureaandSambucus nigraand the extract(s) of at least one further plant selected from the group consisting ofHypericum perforatum, Commiphora molmolandCentella asiatica. The compositions of the invention are of particular utility in the management of inflammatory mucosal diseases of both viral and non-viral origin.
