ABSTRACT:
An improvement in the discharge capacity of pressed nickel electrodes which comprise a NiO.sub.x /Co/binder admixture pressed into a current collector is obtained by heating the NiO.sub.x to a temperature on the order of 125.degree. C. to 175.degree. C. either before or after incorporating the NiO.sub.x in the electrode.
