ABSTRACT:
A heat sensitive transfer material is disclosed, comprising a support having provided thereon a layer containing a dye represented by formula (I) ##STR1## wherein R.sup.1 represents an aliphatic group which has from 1 to 6 carbon atoms, an aromatic group which has from 4 to 10 carbon atoms, an acyl group, an acyloxy group, an alkoxycarbonyl group, an acylamino group, a carbamoyl group, a sulfonamido group, a sulfamoyl group, an imido group, a urethane group, a ureido group, a sulfonyl group, a hydroxyl group, a cyano group, a carboxyl group, a nitro group or a halogen atom; m represents an integer of from 0 to 3; when m.gtoreq.2 the R.sup.1 groups may be the same of different and may be joined together to form a ring; R.sup.2 and R.sup.3 each independently represents an aliphatic group which has from 1 to 6 carbon atoms or an aromatic group, and R.sub.2 and R.sup.3 may be joined together to form a ring, R.sup.4 represents a halogen atom, an alkoxy group, an aliphatic group which has from 1 to 6 carbon atoms or an aromatic group which has from 4 to 10 carbon atoms; n represents an integer of from 0 to 3; and when n.+-.2 the R.sup.4 groups may be the same or different. R.sup.5 and R.sup.6 each independently represents hydrogen atom, an aliphatic group which has from 1 to 6 carbon atoms, or an aromatic group which has from 4 to 10 carbon atoms, and R.sup.5 and R.sup.6 may have substituent groups which contain hetero atoms. R.sup.5 and R.sup.6 may also be joined together to form a ring. Furthermore, R.sup.5 and/or R.sup.6 may be joined to R.sup.4 to form a ring. R.sup.1 to R.sup.6 may be further substituted with separate substituent groups.
