ABSTRACT:
The invention relates to a heat-sensitive capacitor comprising a layer of dielectric material inserted between two metal electrodes.
According to the invention the dielectric material is made up of molecules of an organic compound comprising at least one aliphatic chain of at least 6 carbon atoms and at lest one heterocyclic group comprising a nitrogen atom, at least some of the molecules being bonded to anions, the organic compound also having a reversible phase transition at a given temperature.
The invention also comprises a method of manufacturing such a capacitor whereby the organic compound is deposited on a metal substrate to form a thin layer having a desired thickness, a metal coating being then formed on the deposited layer and the resulting assembly being heat-treated at a temperature above the phase transition temperature of the compound.
