ABSTRACT:
A heat exchanger using heat of exhaust gas has a housing, through which the exhaust gas passes, and is provided with a heat storage insert positioned in the housing. Tubes containing air or water receiving heat from the exhaust gas are also located within the housing. The heat storage insert is formed of a plurality of bricks having hollows which form passages for the exhaust gas. The bricks at least in the regions of the passages are formed of a material which adsorbs surfur compounds contained in the exhaust gas.
