A novel heat developable light-sensitive material is provided comprising a silver halide spectrally sensitized by a polymethine containing at least one basic nucleus wherein the dye contains, as a group for substituting nitrogen atoms in said basic nucleus, at least one of the groups represented by general formulae (A) and (B): ##STR1##
