ABSTRACT:
A hammer mill has a grinding chamber and means therein sufficient enough to grind grain in one pass through the chamber and throw it directly if desired to a remote point, together with means for adjusting the grinding chamber intake for grain and especially corncobs and a corncob intake metering attachment. The mill hammers have raked back leading edges to accelerate feed particles to a speed less than that of the hammers, to multiply the number of impacts on the grain. The smoothness of the mill wall can be varied by turning channels located in a recess in the wall so that either the web or the flange edges of the channels face inwardly toward the hammers.
