ABSTRACT:
A golf club 20 includes a shaft 22 having a club head 32 secured to a tip end section 24 thereof and a grip 34 secured to a butt end section 26 thereof. A central section 28 of the shaft 22 is formed with a plurality of segments 44 which are of successively smaller diameters between the butt end section 26 and the tip end section 24. The wall of the tip end section 24 has portions which are of a prescribed thickness. The wall of the butt end section 26 has portions which are of a thickness less than the prescribed thickness. The wall of the central section 28 has portions which are of a thickness less than the thickness of the portion of the wall of the butt end section 26.
