ABSTRACT:
A biologically pure enzyme comprising D-.alpha.-glycerophosphatase from Bacillus licheniformis is disclosed. A genetic construction in a heterologous host capable of producing D-.alpha.-glycerophosphate is also disclosed, wherein the construction includes a protein coding sequence for D-.alpha.-glycerophosphatase from Bacillus licheniformis.
