ABSTRACT:
Durable glow-plugs utilize, for the heating constitutent material of the heater component of ceramic ignition glow-plugs, admixtures comprising a ceramic phase whose thermal expansion factor is substantially equal to that of the insulator components of the plug and, as a homogeneous dispersion therein, a particulate metal conducting phase whose particles are small enough to keep the internal stresses due to any differences in the thermal expansion factors of the ceramic and the metal particles below a limit at which the ceramic phase may crack or fracture.
