ABSTRACT:
A glassware forming apparatus including at least one split below mold moveable between an open and closed position. At least one bottom plate is mounted on the machine for movement into and out of engagement with the blow mold. The means for moving the bottom plate is separate from the means for moving the blow mold. Additionally, a mechanism is provided for moving the bottom plate toward the blow mold along a path in which the bottom plate first pivots about a fixed pivot point and then moves along a straight line coaxial with the axis of the blow mold.
