ABSTRACT:
A glass composition for a substrate consisting essentially of from 52 to 62 wt % of SiO.sub.2, from 5 to 12 wt % of Al.sub.2 O.sub.3, from 0 to 4 wt % of MgO, from 3 to 5.5 wt % of CaO, from 6 to 9 wt % of SrO, from 0 to 13 wt % of BaO, from 17 to 27 wt % of MgO+CaO+SrO+BaO, from 7 to 14 wt % of Li.sub.2 O+Na.sub.2 O+K.sub.2 O, from 0.2 to 6 wt % of ZrO.sub.2, and from 0 to 0.6 wt % of SO.sub.3.
