A method and apparatus are provided for generating three-dimensional text1403within images1601composited in real time, by means of generating three-dimensional text1403from one or a plurality of text formatting templates303. Storage means204stores said text formatting templates303and instructions302for processing means201, 202. Said instructions302configure said processing means201, 202to define (404) a text formatting template512. Said instructions302further configure said processing means201, 202to equip (405) said defined text formatting template512with three-dimensional preferences with which to format text1402to be included in said template and subsequently equip (407) said defined text formatting template512with said text1402. Said instructions302finally configure said processing means201,202to render (408) said two-dimensional template512including said text1403formatted according to said three-dimensional preferences (1602).
