ABSTRACT:
A gear and axle oil composition comprises (a) conventional gear/axle grade mineral oil; (b) a polyoxyalkylene glycol of viscosity from 5 to 30 cSt at 100.degree. C.; and (c) at least one di-C.sub.8 to C.sub.12 alkyl ester of a dicarboxylic acid. The mineral oil component is never greater than 50 mass % of the total composition. Power loss due to friction is decreased, giving useful fuel saving.
