ABSTRACT:
The proposed gastric secretion stimulator comprises an active principle which is 2-amino-5-(2-aminoethyl)-1,3,4-thiadiazole, and a pharmaceutical carrier for said active principle. The stimulator is used in the form of hydrochlorides. It displays a selective stimulating effect upon H.sub.2 -ceptors of secretory cells of the stomach and produces a maximum of gastric secretion, which is an important diagnostic factor. The gastric secretion stimulator of this invention is advantageous in that besides parenteral administration, it may be administered per os.
