ABSTRACT:
A gas sensor includes an element case42with an internal peripheral surface formed as a taper surface100. A portion of a housing section43surrounded by the taper surface100and a protective film48is filled with a filler49. When the filler49thermally expands at high temperature, the filler49is subjected to a component of force in an upward direction by the taper surface100. Therefore, projection of an element portion44involving deformation of the protective film48is suppressed, a change ΔL of a propagation distance L to a reflecting section33is also suppressed, and a detection accuracy never decreases. In addition, reverberation is reduced.
