ABSTRACT:
Gas detecting sensor made of SnO.sub.2 characterized by containing less than 5% by weight of at least one of Al.sub.2 O.sub.3, ZnO, SrO and BaO and less than 1% by weight of chlorine. The gas detecting sensor has a high sensitivity selectively to carbon monoxide but has a low sensitivity to hydrocarbon gases.
