ABSTRACT:
A gamma correction circuit for use in a liquid crystal display device includes a comparator that receives an input data voltage and preferably three reference voltages. In response to these signals, the comparator outputs an input data comparison signal, which is supplied to first and second analog switches. The first and second analog switches select and respectively output a weight voltage and a correction voltage in response to the input data comparison signal. The selected correction voltages is then either added or subtracted from the input data voltage, and the resulting sum or difference is multiplied by the selected weight voltage using an analog multiplier.
