ABSTRACT:
Gaming machines include telecommunication devices, such as telephones, so that calls may be placed to the player of the machine and/or so that calls may be placed from the machine to a remote location. A game includes the opportunity to involve a third party participant located remote from the gaming machine, in the play of the game via a telecommunication link. In one embodiment, a game includes a base game having the opportunity for one or more bonus or secondary events. One event includes the opportunity to call a participant, with the player and participant provided the opportunity to play a game for winnings, such as money, prizes or points. Another event involves calls to the player as part of an opportunity of the player to win winnings, such as money, prizes or points.
