A fungicidal composition and method for the protection of vines against disease are provided. The composition which is applied to vines contains as active material a mixture of 1 part by weight of a monoester salt of a phosphorous acid of the formula ##STR1## in which R is an alkyl radical having 2 to 4 carbon atoms
