Cooling fins72, 74and76extend about the fuel pump24, perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the fuel pump and parallel to the anticipated direction of flow of the air stream generated by the movement of the vehicle. The cooling fins are formed on the pump bowl36, hood34, and mounting arm49to extract the heat of conduction transferred from the engine block12to the mounting arm49and heat of radiation and convection transferred from the engine block and its accessories to the pump bowl36, hood34and mounting arm49.
