ABSTRACT:
A fuel-injection engine with prechamber-torch ignition is of particular advantage in vehicular transport. In this engine, an injector nozzle and a nozzle connecting the precombustion chamber with the combustion chamber are arranged opposite to each other, a channel providing for additional communication between the precombustion chamber and the combustion chamber being made in a wall of the precombustion chamber near the injector nozzle. The distance between the injector nozzle and the precombustion chamber nozzle is such, that during injection a jet of fuel touches the walls of the precombustion chamber and ejects the contents thereof into the combustion chamber, wherein the volume of the fuel jet in the precombustion chamber constituting 0.05-0.25 of the volume of said chamber. Such an embodiment of the engine permits scavenging of the precombustion chamber and removal of exhaust gases from said chamber.
