This invention provides a fuel filler cap that can release an outer cap from an inner cap without influences of direction of the external force when it applied. The fuel filler cap1comprises the outer cap11constructed by an upper face portion112, a skirt portion113extending from the outer circumference of the upper face portion112and a plurality of wedge-shaped projection111formed on the inner face of the skirt portion113, the pressing plate15, and the inner cap13constructed by a supporting plate14having annular slants142formed downward by chamfering the peripheral edge of its upper face intermittently, a seal ring12and a plurality of annular groove146defined by the individual annular slants142of the supporting plate14and by the lower face of the pressing plate15laid over the supporting plate14.
