ABSTRACT:
When a fuel cell system is to be stopped, a controller3decreases the coolant flowrate to a fuel cell1, decreases the cooling performance of the fuel cell1and continues operation of the fuel cell1, and performs a temperature rise operation wherein the temperature of the fuel cell1is increased using the heat generated by the electrochemical reaction in the fuel cell1. After the temperature of the fuel cell1has reached a predetermined high temperature, the operation of the fuel cell1is stopped.
