A fuel cell pack includes multiple stacked membrane-electrode-assemblies and two base plates sandwiching the membrane-electrode assemblies and each configured to provide a uniform distribution of compressing forces across juxtaposed surfaces of the membrane-electrode-assemblies to eliminated external and internal gaseous leaks.
