ABSTRACT:
An annular combustion chamber for a gas turbine engine is provided with a plurality of fuel injection nozzles at its upstream end to direct swirled flows of fuel and air into the chamber. Ports in the combustion chamber walls direct air into the combustion chamber to oppose the swirling fuel and air flows from the fuel injection nozzles to achieve better fuel and air mixing.
