ABSTRACT:
A friction material having an excellent heat-resistance, comprises 5 to 70% by weight of pulp-like particles consisting essentially of a heat-resistant aromatic polymeric material; 1 to 70% by weight of a fibrous material comprising at least one member selected from inorganic fibrous materials and heat-resistant organic fibrous materials; 1 to 35% by weight of a friction-regulating agent and; 5 to 40% by weight of a thermosetting polymeric resin.
