ABSTRACT:
The frequency of an alternating current can be divided with a novel frequency divider, comprising a thyristor connected in series to main current circuit; a counting circuit (e.g. decimal counter or RC-time constant circuit); a trigger circuit for the thyristor, associated with the counting circuit; and a reset circuit. With use of the apparatus, half- or whole-cycle(s) of an alternating current can be supplied to ac appliance at desirable wave intervals.
