ABSTRACT:
A multi-unit railway freight car of which each unit defines a container well for receiving cargo containers, and including a permanently installed power distribution cable arrangement, for receiving power from a generator carried in a container well and for providing power to containers carried in other container wells and container-carrying positions of the car units. Cables and terminal devices are located in positions largely protected from mechanical damage, and circuit breakers are associated with the cables to protect the cables and the generator from overloads.
