ABSTRACT:
A free floating castor includes a wheel assembly mounted to move relative to a vertical axis of rotation at which it is attached to a trolley to provide space for the wheel to move freely within a fixed area. In one embodiment, two parallel shafts of a bracket assembly are attached to the wheel axle, one on each side, thus permitting the wheel axle to slide along the parallel shafts and in between two stoppers/limits. In a second embodiment, a rotary joint assembly is connected between a trailing arm bracket assembly and the bearing for attaching the castor to a trolley permitting the bracket assembly and the wheel assembly to revolve through 360.degree. in the horizontal plane around it.
