ABSTRACT:
A forging apparatus1A includes a swaging apparatus2equipped with a fixing die10, a guide20having an insertion passage22for inserting and holding a bar-shaped raw material5in a buckling preventing state, and a punch30. The raw material5is fixed to the fixing die10with the one end portion of the raw material protruded. The one end portion of the raw material5is inserted into the insertion passage22of the guide20. Thereafter, while pressing the raw material5with the punch30in the axial direction, in a state in which an entire peripheral surface of the exposed portion8of the raw material5exposed between the guide20and the fixing die10is not restrained, the guide20is moved in a direction opposite to the moving direction of the punch30so that a length of the exposed portion8of the raw material5becomes a budding limit length or less at a cross-sectional area of the exposed portion8of the raw material5. Thus, the one end portion of the raw material5is subject to swaging processing.
