ABSTRACT:
A plurality of grooves, which are defined in a reinforcing ring, comprise respective end walls which are formed as inclined surfaces. The grooves further comprise walls on which engaging projections are disposed in parallel to the inclined surfaces respectively. Segmented dies are installed in the grooves. Grooves, which are defined on the segmented dies, slidably engage with the engaging projections respectively. Accordingly, the segmented dies are displaced along the inclined surfaces while being guided by the engaging projections. Thus, it is possible to stably hold the segmented dies on the reinforcing ring. Further, it is possible to simplify the structure of the forging apparatus, and it is possible to decrease the number of parts.
