A foot depressing parking brake apparatus including a brake pedal main body3pivotably supported by a support shaft2,a ratchet plate4having ratchet teeth4band attached to the brake pedal main body3,a ratchet pole6rotatably attached to a pivot pin5and constituting a shaft hole inserted with the pivot pin5by a long hole7,and a toggle spring10for exerting a turning force to the ratchet pole6,wherein a brake operating state in which a claw portion6aof the ratchet pole6is brought in mesh with the ratchet teeth4bof the ratchet plate4and a brake releasing state in which the meshing is released are realized.
