ABSTRACT:
A foldable pneumatic tire including an annular tread and sidewalls each extending from both ends of the tread and terminating in bead portions, the sidewalls adapted to be folded axially inwardly toward each other to be collapsed within the tread. The foldable tire located in a mold for vulcanization comprises the bead portions each extending perpendicular to a rotating axis of the tire and having a height 1.2 to 2.0 times of that of a flange of a rim, and each the sidewall consisting of first and second sidewalls making an angle with each other between 140.degree. and 160.degree., and an outer surface of the second sidewall radially inwardly sloping at an angle of 0.degree. to 5.degree. to the rotating axis. The tire according to the invention is superior in foldability and can be attached to the rim with ease and is greatly useful for a spare tire for automobiles.
