ABSTRACT:
A folding lighter that does not injure a finger or inadvertently ignite at pressing of the operating button at time of folding the swingarm to make the lighter compact. A folding lighter comprising body2housing a fuel tank106and a piezoelectric unit102and possessing on a side surface operating button8, and swingarm4connected with free swinging to one end of body2, and possessing a safety mechanism to prevent folding of swingarm4when foreign object134interposes between swingarm4and operating component8at time when swingarm4is being folded. The safety mechanism possesses swing preventer120that oscillatingly shifts by operation of operating component8, and swing preventer120possesses first arm121that is pressed by pressing inward operation of operating component8, and on the opposite side of axle socket122possesses second arm123that prevents swingarm4from being folded when first arm121is pressed by pressing inward operation of operating component8.
