ABSTRACT:
Provided is a fluorometric analytical method for detecting chloride ion in a sample by quenching of fluorescence of a fluorescent dye, the fluorescent dye being one of 3,6-bis(dimethylamino)acridine and a derivative thereof of the formulae ##STR1## wherein R is alkyl having 1 to 30 carbon atoms, and X.sup.- is a halogen ion.
