ABSTRACT:
Fluoroaluminate compounds of formula M.sup.+n (AlF.sub.4).sub.n.sup.- wherein n is 1 to 3 and M.sup.+n is N(R.sub.2).sub.4, P(R.sub.2).sub.4, As(R.sub.2).sub.4, HN(R.sub.2).sub.3, H.sub.2 N(R.sub.2).sub.2, H.sub.3 N(R.sub.2), (R.sub.2).sub.3 P.dbd.N.dbd.P(R.sub.2).sub.3, ##STR1## (R).sub.2 N--(C(R).sub.2).sub.k --N(R).sub.3, and ZH.sub.m.sup.+m wherein Z is a base capable of accepting m protons, and various cyclic and aryl groups are disclosed as well as processes for their preparation.
