A compound of Formula (1)in-line-formulae description="In-line Formulae" end="lead"?Rf—O—(CXX′)m—(CY2)nSO3M  (1)in-line-formulae description="In-line Formulae" end="tail"?whereinRfis a C1to C4linear or branched perfluoroalkyl group,X and X′ are each independently H or F, provided that at least one of X or X′ is F,each Y is independently H or F,m is an integer from 1 to 4,n is an integer from 1 to 2, andM is H, NH4, Li, Na or K,provided that when CXX′ is CHF or CFH, then n is 2.
