ABSTRACT:
A fluorescent detecting agent comprising a naphthalene compound of formula (I) ##STR1## wherein R.sup.1 and R.sup.2 may be the same or different and each represents an alkyl group of 4 to 8 carbon atoms and/or a pyraxoline compound of formula (II) ##STR2## wherein R.sup.3 and R.sup.4 may be the same or different and each represents hydrogen, an alkoxy group of 1 to 8 carbon atoms or an alkyl group of 4 to 8 carbon atoms, provided that at least one of R.sup.3 and R.sup.4 represents an alkyl group of 4 to 8 carbon atoms. They are used for a visual inspection or an automatic optical inspection (AOI) and a fluorescent penetrant examination.
