ABSTRACT:
An inlet grating (11) is constituted by a thin corrugated sheet having rounded corrugation tops (15) facing incident gas flow (25) arriving at an oblique angle. The corrugations are parallel and regularly spaced with perforations at the bottoms thereof (23). Suitable choice of dimensions, together with optional auxiliary openings (24), can ensure a uniform flow perpendicular to the plane of the trough bottoms at a suitable distance therefrom. This is of particular application to drying apparatus.
