ABSTRACT:
The present invention relates to flavanonol derivatives represented by formula (1): ##STR1## (wherein R.sup.1 represents an alkyl group, and each of R.sup.2 and R.sup.3 represents a hydrogen atom, an alkyl group which may have a substituent, an alkoxyl group which may have a substituent, a hydroxyl group, a cyano group, or a halogen atom), as well as to hair-nourishing and hair-growing compositions containing the derivatives. The compounds accelerate differentiation and proliferation of hair matrix cells, thereby exhibiting remarkable hair-nourishing and hair-growing effects.
