ABSTRACT:
A flat cable insulation-displacement connector in which the center-to-center spacing of the terminals is less than the spacing between the conductors of the flat cable. The terminals are inserted in the connector housing so that the planes containing the contact slots present an angle of 23.degree. to the lateral axis of the connector. A cable clamp is provided with guide channels positioning the cable over the contact forks at the same angle of 23.degree.. The clamp is provided with relief contours over which the cable is bent successively along several angles when forced down by closing the cover, thus realigning the cable with the connector axis.
