Flame-retarded regenerated cellulose filaments and filamentary articles having dispersed therein polymeric phosphazenes with P-O-P oxygen linkages that are prepared through the condensation of alkyl esters of phosphorus acids with acid halides of phosphorus acids with elimination of alkyl halides; and method for their preparation.
