ABSTRACT:
Liquid flame-retardants for polyurethane compositions are disclosed. The liquid flame-retardants contain a mixture of a bromohydrin of pentaerythritol, a polyhydric alcohol, and a sufficient amount of a flame-retardant organo-phosphorus compound to render the mixture a substantially solids-free liquid at 25.degree. C., one atmosphere pressure. Illustrative of these flame-retardants is a solution of 2,2-bis(bromomethyl)-1,3-propanediol, a cyclic phosphonate ester of the formula ##STR1## where x=0 or 1, and a poly(oxypropylene) adduct of glycerol having an average molecular weight of about 300.
