ABSTRACT:
A flame resistant staple fiber blend, useful for flame-resistant clothing, comprising 80 to 97 weight parts of m-aramide polymer staple fibers (A) with a small thermal shrinkage stress of 130 mg/d or less at 350.degree. C., 3 to 20 weight parts of p-aramide copolymer staple fibers (B) with a higher flame resistance than that of the m-aramide fiber (A), and optionally, 240 weight parts or less of non-fusible staple fibers (C) with a lower thermal shrinkage stress than that of the staple fiber (A).
