ABSTRACT:
A flame retardant resin composition comprising:(A) 100 parts by weight of a resin component (component a) containing at least 50% by weight of a high impact polystyrene, and(B) 1 to 50 parts by weight of a phosphorous-containing compound (component b) represented by the following general formula (I):wherein A and A′ are the same or different and represent —OR or -Q wherein R and Q represent an alkyl group having 1 to 12 carbon atoms, a cycloalkyl group having 5 to 10 carbon atoms, an aralkyl group having 7 to 20 carbon atoms or an aryl group having 6 to 15 carbon atoms. According to the present invention, there are provided a polystyrene resin composition containing substantially no halogen and having heat resistance, particularly a high heat distortion temperature under load, and an article from the composition.
